WCC Emergency Aid Program

SOSThe WCC Foundation Emergency Aid Program was established to assist students who have unforeseen financial hardships that occur during the semester and endanger their continued enrollment. These hardships are generally financial situations that are immediate and severe in nature that cannot be remedied by Financial Aid, the Scholarship Office or the Benefits Access Center. 

Emergency needs include, but are not limited to:

  • Homelessness or sudden loss of housing
  • Fire in living quarters
  • Threat of eviction
  • Overdue utility bills/turn-off notice
  • Theft of computer, books, clothing or other essential belonging
  • Medical/Dental emergencies
  • Temporary loss of job or income
  • Loss of childcare
  • Victims of Violence
  • Other (you may give an explanation of your emergency in personal statement)

Non-covered situations include, but may not be limited to:

  • cover previous college debts
  • To pay for full or partial tuition or college fees and supplies
  • To pay for legal representation in a criminal proceeding or WCC disciplinary proceeding
  • This funding is not intended to replace or supplement existing financial aid


Applicants must:

  • have proof of a financial hardship resulting from an emergency, accident, job or housing loss, health issue or other unexpected critical incident;
  • be a currently enrolled full time student in good academic standing
  • complete all questions in full on the application and submit supporting documentation.

Obligations of Student recipients

  • Grants do NOT have to be repaid.
  • Students receiving aid will be required to register with the Benefits Access Center and receive financial counseling support for the length of their attendance at WCC.
